We found this quaint restaurant by accident immediately after turning the corner enroute to Banff, AB. As a matter of fact we ate here twice, going northward and coming back southward two days later. Our first stop we were waited on by Karen, she was very pleasant, easy to talk with and very helpful on the menu selection. What User doesn't like about Smitty's Pancake House:
Travelling for an extended period of time, I usually find some chain family-type restaurants to be a break from all the other places. I have come to appreciate the Denny's and Smitty's out there for an "homey" feel and a decent egg skillet for breakfast.Restaurant was kind of quirky and very quiet for breakfast hours. We found this quaint restaurant by accident immediately after turning the corner enroute to Banff, AB. As a matter of fact we ate here twice, going northward and coming back southward two days later. Our first stop we were waited on by Karen, she was very pleasant, easy to talk with and very helpful on the menu selection. The food we ordered was very tasty and hot, so it came straight off the stove to our table. Our second stop here we were waited on by another young lady, who's name we don't remember, but the service was just as great and the food the same as the first time we visited here. If you're ever passing through Lethbridge going north or south and want a bite to eat, stop in for great cooking and excellent home-style service.
Two senior couples ambled in to Smitty's and were overwhelmed with a senior greeter showed to our tables and coffee was served before we could catch our breaths. The bright room with lots of windows enhanced the good food. A great way to start our day
Smitys has a feel of home about it. Always fast and efficient service with a smile and a conversation if you want it. Their wake up breakfast is good value and you can change out items within it for no extra cost. For example you can have tomatoes or a fruit dish in place of hash browns. We like to support local businesses and this one has been around for many years if successful operation.
A very disappointing Smitty's for a meal. Coffee is adequate.. Food service was poor. Food was cold and poorly cooked. Prices average
