El Comal - Lethbridge
El Comal
Description
In Lethbridge, this family-run Mexican spot delivers authentic, homemade flavors—massive, well-priced burritos, plentiful toppings, and standout cocktails like margaritas and a bulldog lime. The slightly worn, Mexican-flair interior feels casual and unpretentious. Vegetarian options are broad and portions are shareable. Service is inconsistent—ranging from attentive to slow—so expect occasional staffing hiccups. Despite that, many consider it the city's best place for hearty, genuine Mexican food; worth trying at least once.

The interior of El Comal restaurant has a slightly worn appearance, although it still captures the essence of a Mexican establishment. The food is quite tasty, and the bulldog lime drink is outstanding. If you enjoy Mexican cuisine like I do, I recommend giving this place a try.
This Mexican restaurant is quite mediocre. It had a decent start when it first opened, but it seems to have declined since the chef was deported. If you're in the mood for Mexican food, I recommend Tacos Del Mar or Cafe Verde for quick bites, both located on the other side of Mayor McGrath.
I really enjoy the food here. It's homemade and seems quite authentic, likely thanks to the owners. The service definitely needs significant improvement, but the food is excellent.
Great food, but poor service. Go if you like great Mexican food, but don't care about speedy service or staff who forget your order. Mole Poblano is great.
This is the most frustrating restaurant in Lethbridge because the food is A+ but the service is D- I honestly can't decide if it's maybe a front restaurant of sorts. It's almost like the owner tries to encourage people not to come back. The food though......oh the food!! The best Mexican food I have ever had.....maybe the best food I have ever had. Try it at least once!!!
