What lvetravelling doesn't like about Hostaria La Speranza:
Very bad experience... must read. When we walked in through the door we thought we had found a real local gem and sat down full of anticipation. We were told what we were going to eat and drink (House wine) and 4 dishes came and went and we enjoyed a lovely experience. We were then given a bill of 300 euros. We were surprised (considering we had enjoyed set lunch menus of 2 courses, wine, water, coffee for 13 euros p... View all feedback.
Super dinner, typical dishes prepared with refinement, local chic.
We had dinner at this restaurant, parents and 3 adolescent children. The staff pretended not to understand English. We had some antipasti, 3 small courses of pasta and 2 courses of fish, drank only water and didn't have any desert. We paid 250 Euros. Sheer robbery.
This a cute little establishment that is frequented by celebrities and food connoisseurs. We visited on the way to the airport so there was not as much as we liked. Nonetheless food is exquisite and service is great. Staff don't speak any English. However we were undeterred and I am certain you will enjoy the ambiance as much the food.
She takes the most ordinary Italian food and brings it to perfection, and serves it elegantly. But you pay for it. Yes it is very expensive to eat there, but it is good. She is not your average local restaurant. Her restaurant is special. She show cases, her elegant silver service pieces on a table in the middle of the dining room.
Great food, excellent service, but extremely expensive compared to other places we've been to in Italy.
