We were in the house on a Monday afternoon along the d1044 and there were no places we saw north of st. quentin. then we saw le bonavis at a crossing in the middle of nowhere. the car parked outside said they were open for business, and our group of four went in. it felt warm and friendly inside and the facility seemed very fresh. we were brought to a table and menu in a short order. the Express menu appealed how we were on the way to home. the plate du jour was grilled porridge served with frit and an oriental salat. starter of Spanish ham and no dessert. coffee included. eating was good with generous portions. wee at the bottle or pichet. faster service and very friendly all for a good price. stil des dienst was more caffe than restaurant, although the facility was more restaurant than caffe. we were glad to eat there as the option seemed to be in cambrai.
Our travel group of 19 Americans enjoyed a lot of delicious lunch from the menu. We had no reservations, but received a friendly, patient reception with good service hot food.
In the middle of nowhere. A nice restaurant, with a good reputation. Served many people in quite a short time. Local cuisine and traditional food. The dessert was particularly good.
