This restaurant is very well placed on the slopes and we had the two times when we went there a pleasant reception on the terrace. It is good and at very good prices for an altitude chalet. I still keep a week after the taste of chocolate mousse - caramel in the mouth. We'll probably be back.
A search for a restaurant on our route of the 3 valleys we were seduced in the first time by the prices announced on the menu map. then by the good mood of the staff and finally by the quality of the meals. We are certainly not in a four-star, but the quality and quantity are at the rendezvous. service is fast and efficient. short a good time spent with family with bonus (in terrace) the superb viewpoint and the sun (it is not provided by the restaurant). This opinion is obviously flattering because it contrasts with 2 altitude restaurants that we crossed on our route whose prices of meals are exhorbitant or indecent.
We ordered our lunch, 2 omelettes and a chicken escalope with chips. The omelettes were sort of OK the chips were not good and the chicken escalope was inedible. It was tough and tasteless and grey in colour. When the bill came I pointed out that we had not eaten the chicken as it was so disgusting, but we were charged for it anyway. I would not recommend this place.
Apparently, I can review a restaurant again, so having visited Le Grand Lac in 2022, and just returned in January 2023, I'm going to! After all, I did say I'd happily return! Visited on two occasions, the first for a coffee stop on a particularly snowy morning with almost zero visibility and quite a strong wind. So we were welcomed into the warmth as we completed a run down the Grand Lac Piste. It was only a coffee, but that was no problem and the coffee was very good. And great advice as during our coffee, all the upper lifts were closed! Later in the week, having returned into the Les Menuires Vally from Meribel, a later than usual lunch for us. Being Frantic Friday, it was quite busy inside. Nevertheless, space was found for the two of us. We both went for the quiche salad, excellent value at €14.00 for a generous serving, delicious too! Other prices are pretty much standard: €5.00 for a small beer, €6.00 for a cappuccino. And the staff are really really friendly! So roll on 2024, will happily visit agin!
