Description

This small-town Sonic delivers wildly inconsistent experiences: when it's good, staff are friendly, quick, and orders arrive hot and correct, ideal for families, game nights and budget diners. When it's bad, guests report long waits, missing or cold food, broken cups/contaminated drinks, rude or unresponsive management and safety concerns. Corporate attention and improved parking for large vehicles are recommended to restore reliability.

The restaurant lacks parking facilities for long trailers, such as those for boats or horse trailers, which is definitely a disadvantage. It would be great if they could improve this, as it would allow truckers to enjoy their offerings as well. As for the experience: Food: 2, Service: 2, Atmosphere: 1.

I ordered a simple meal consisting of a hot dog, tater tots, cheese sticks, and a drink. After waiting over 30 minutes, I finally received my food, but when I got home (15 miles away), I discovered that my hot dog was missing. I called the restaurant and a young employee answered, acting rather unprofessional before realizing he was at Sonic. I asked to speak with a manager, and another staff member got on the line. I explained the situation, and he told me to come back to the restaurant. I declined, as it would require a 30-minute round trip. I then requested that he take my name so I could get my meal next time I visited, but he just laughed and hung up on me. The Sonic in Leonard, TX, has some serious issues that corporate needs to address. I also noticed kids walking in and out with their food while customers in cars were left waiting for their orders. I will be reaching out to corporate about this experience.

To make matters worse, starting in January 2023, the staff began breaking cups and adding styrofoam pieces to drinks. This happened every single time I ordered (over 10 times in one month). If you’re okay spending $30-$50 on dinner and are comfortable risking the quality of your food and drinks—which may have you visiting a doctor or hospital—or not receiving what you paid for, then continue eating here. Management and corporate seem indifferent, assuming that since it's a small town, they can get away with it. I recommend going to the Whitewright location instead; they are amazing.
