We arrived at Soldiers Point by water taxi and after looking at a few dining options, we settled on this restaurant. The food was fantastic - the burger was delicious with great chips and a generous portion size. The calamari was also excellent, served with lemon and tartar sauce. The service was fast and friendly, and we will definitely be coming back in the future.

Then we waited over half an hour for our food, which turned out to be terrible. The bread was stale and the chips were inedible. The prices were really high as well. I don't mind paying a premium for quality food, but I feel like I was ripped off both in terms of money and time.

I usually wait up to an hour for sma... read more I’ve been going to John Dory’s formally known as Kippies for over three years and it’s seemed to take a turn for the worst. I usually wait up to an hour for small chips or other small orders and when I get the chips they are overcooked and with light salt just on the top chips. I think the problem lies with the lack of staff especially around rush times. The staff are nice and good at their job but due to it’s location right at the marina with a good view of the water, they get overly busy and 5
