As first-time visitors, we didn't know what to order. Our waiter, Erick, and the staff were quick, friendly, and efficient. The food portions were generous. Sadly, there was no agua de horchata, but we will definitely return when we are in Sacramento. We loved the atmosphere. ? ? View all feedback.
What Ashley doesn't like about El Novillero:
The food here is good. My only disappointment is that the same sauce is used for every dish, including enchiladas, tamales, and chile relleno. It would be wonderful to see both green and red sauces added to the menu to offer a different taste experience. This is a genuine Mexican family owned and operated restaurant. Everything here is very authentic and the service is excellent. This place only keeps getting better because the foot and the service is very consistent.
Solid price for the amount of food you get. There hasn't been anything on the menu that has been bad or disappointing.
5 stars !...I would give more if I could. I ordered the Chile Colorado plate and it was delicious the beef was so tender my wife ordered the Carnitas burrito quesadilla combination plate...the servings were so big that we had plenty to take home. The service was great they made sure we always had chips n salsa drinks I can't state how good the service was ! Give the Chile Colorado a try ! With flour tortillas ?

We have been going to this restaurant since I was a little girl. So approximately 50 years. Even though we live in Lincoln now, we make the drive out there occasionally. The prices were good, the food and service was always great! There were about 20 of us tonight that went there for a birthday celebration, the food was just awful, the service wasn’t good at all. Just so disappointed at this place. Must have changed cooks and looks like they hired a bunch of new people. Will not be going back there, so sad!
