We usually pop in for dinner but decided to try Better Half for lunch today and quality was 5 star as usual. I had the beef brisket burger and hubby had the slow cooked pork belly burger. They were hands down the best burgers in NZ and hubby is a burger connoisseur : I don't normally eat burgers but I will DEFINITELY be back for their burgers. The crispy smashed agria potatoes are Better Half's signature sidekick. They are absolutely delicious and better still, they are not frozen chips rather freshly cooked/crisped potatoes. We keep coming back for those. Staff are lovely, atmosphere lovely, grounds lovely.....so glad we live down the road!!!!

We traveled up and down the country many times and are always on the lookout for a good place to stop and eat. It is on SH1 on the way to Christchurch, so you will not miss it. We finally went there and weren't disappointed. They have a big courtyard where you can sit outside or indoors. The foods are really good. Especially the crispy chips that come with the burger. They prices are on the high side but you wouldn't mind for the quality you received. We can't wait to go back there again. They offer gluten-free options, though some dishes may contain gluten. I enjoyed a lunch here, and the price per person ranged from NZ$10 to $20. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 out of 5!

Otherwise we park up and go in looking forward to their food and a nice drink then get told sorry do you have a booking and if you don't we can't service you come back another day.
