we enjoyed our meal in the restaurant, and the portions are great. we had ridden, cheese, bread and olive. my man and I chose the grouper who was delicious. the meal itself was filled up by two large slices of brot among the fish, in person we would rather not be served with him as we enjoyed the brot with the fish. we would have preferred our fish with the potatoes, the green beans and the sweet potato, which would...
We found Baia Toscana after the tourist season. It seemed to be one of the few places open non-tourist hours and now I know why. The food is top shelf wonderful. This is a favorite of the locals of SMP. No it does not have a ocean view. You have to really look to find it... it is the Cave (basement) floor under a fantastic pastry and coffee shop! Yes the same chef. This guy is a force of nature. We had a massive seafood platter of HUGE Prawns, muscles, shrimp, cod, potatoes and more and more. A bottle of wine. 2 deserts and the bill, with a healthy tip for our awesome server was less than 60 Euros for 2. Perfecrtly prepared and amazing flavors. Not too oily and everything was fresh as could be. Even the cherry tomatoes which i find to rarely have much flavors were very flavorful and fresh. We will become permanent residence in Sao Martinho do Porto next summer... we are looking forward to being a local in our favorite place. UPDATE: we went back for lunch and the bacalhau da nata is a bowl full of heaven.
We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant, and the portions are big. We had the entradas, cheese, bread and olives. My husband and myself chose the Grouper which was delicious. The meal itself was bulked up by two large slices of bread under the fish, personally we would rather they hadn't served our meal with it as we had already had the bread with the entradas. We would have preferred our fish with the potatoes, green beans and the sweet potato, that would have been more than adequate for us as we also left the cabbage. Otherwise very friendly waitress, lovely bright interior. We will definitely go again, but will ask for our meal to be served simpler if ordering fish.....
This restraunt served overcooked and dry frozen prawns which tasted like petrol and what seemed like supermarket lasgana we didnt stay for dessert
