The Yamato is a very small but cosy restaurant, settled in the Westin Hotel in central Leipzig. You can have an all sushi meal if you like to but the heart of the restaurant is the Teppanyaki. Denn wir warteten mehr als 1 Stunde bis zumindest eine Misosuppe serviert wurde. Auch die Edamamebohnen kamen sogar noch später. Und dabei hatten wir "nur Sushi und sashimi" bestellt - nix aufwändiges. Zugegeben - es war alles frisch und lecker - aber das Lokal im Westin Hotel war überhaupt nicht voll - deshalb merkwürdig, die lange Wartezeiten. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a perfect Sunday evening at Yamato.
Für besondere Abende mit eigener Köchin auf der sich direkt am Tisch befindenden Grillplatte. Wir hatten ein Menu aus Fisch und Fleisch gewählt, wobei das Fleisch ein ganz besonders zartes Kobe-Art-Fleisch ist und in allen Gängen Köstlichkeiten serviert bekommen. Der Restaurantleiter erklärt die Gänge und Zutaten mit Historie und der gesamte Service ist erstklassig. Selbstverständlich ist es ein kostenintensiveres Restaurant, aber damit rechnet man auch. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren, rundum zufriedenen Abend. Gerne wieder!
Es war ein fantastischer Besuch ! Japanisch Essen im Herzen von Leipzig.Wir wählten ein Menü aus Fisch und Gemüse.Zu den Hauptgängen wurde am Tisch direkt gebraten und serviert - ein Highlight!
I had a large sashimi which wasn't large and was fresh but not very interesting, and a tempura moriawase which was disappointing as the oil in which it was fried was old and a little nasty. I would have rated it two but the service was lovely. Very expensive for what was set on the table.
