Auf TA haben wir dann Steaktrain g... read more Wir waren geschäftlich zu Besuch in Leipzig und wollten die Reise mit einem Besuch in einem schönen Restaurant abschliessen . Auf TA haben wir dann Steaktrain gefunden. Das restaurant ist nicht nur optisch eine Augenweide sondern auch kulinarisch sehr gehoben. Optisch ist das Restaurant sehr geschmackvoll im Stil eines Eisenbahnwagens eingerichtet. Die leuchtende Decke nimmt dem Kellergewölbe das typische kellerflair und nimmt einen auf eine kulinarische Reise mit.Wir hatten Thunfischtatar als Vorspeise und Fisch und Steak im Hauptgang. Beides war sehr sehr lecker, sehr schön zubereitet und sehr raffiniert präsentiert. Die garstufe war perfekt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat unsere wünsche sehr liebevoll realisiert. Absolut empfehlenswert und sehr gerne wieder ....

Otherwise, stay a great place and stay.

Steak was outstandingly good and although not cheap but worth every Euro. Portions are very generous and even a small starter might be too much. Wine list is OK but adding more German reds by glass would make it even better fitting the menu. The interior is a bit strange and adding the volume of the music could help avoid the awkwardly silent atmosphere. But seriously, these are just minor things. The place is definitely a recommendation!

Clean, polished wood... non stop videos of Union Pacific steam engines pulling trains actually pretty cool). The service was slow, but friendly and, once I asked for something, responsive. Being originaly from New York City, spending $75 for a steak dinner for 1 is kind of normal. And that was more than a few years ago. Tonight July 2020) I spent €85 with tip, but that seemed a bit high. The steak itself was listed at €40+. Not unreasonable, but high, nevertheless. Having said that, the portion was good not huge, which was a good thing. There was a Tomahawk on the menu for €72 or so, as well as other offerings such as bison), the steak tasty, and done exactly the way I wanted it, which is not easy to come by. In fact, everything was tasty... well, the Caesar Salad was lacking. The flavors were there, but nothing to write home about €11). The dessert was rich, sweet.. something unique to Leipzig and very good. The wine I ordered was only ok... but I’ll chalk that up to user error.

Quality of the meat is very good, its price is at the top of the market. It is advisable to book by site with at least two people for Sunday. That gives you a 50% discount (Drinks not included)

The rooms are a bit on the small side, but clean and the staff is friendly. EUR 145/night without breakfast is rather expensive for a room like this but I would definitely stay there again.
