The Royal Indian Restaurant And Bar

I booked a family party for 50 people 3 months in advance. Spoke to the owner and confirmed the booking a week before and again a few days before and on the day Saturday 10th November i get a phone call at 1pm to say the restaurant/hall had a break in the night before and the whole place is smashed up. Feeling sorry for him i said dont worry. I let my family down and told them the party was cancelled only to find out later that evening when a member of family turned up in error that there was another party. I was shocked and disguisted. I would not recommend this restaurant EVER! How can any1 do that, this is clearly not a reliable or professional business.

Didn't really stay long enough to try anything else. But the starter was a good size and tasty. We were too full to order anything further.

My husband and I visited Royal Indian on the evening of Friday, June 8th, 2018 based on a recommendation from a friend. The staff was friendly, the service was good, the drinks were enjoyable, and we appreciated the complimentary poppadoms. However, we were disappointed with the mixed sizzler and garlic naans we ordered. The sizzler did not sizzle as expected and the kebab, lamb chops, chicken wings, and chicken tikka all had a similar overpowering cumin flavor. The food seemed frozen and not fresh, and was dry. The garlic naans seemed to have artificial garlic flavoring. Overall, we did not enjoy our meal and would not recommend ordering the sizzler. We have had much better sizzler experiences at other restaurants in Leicester, such as Sizzlers. We will not be returning to Royal Indian.

My extended family, consisting of approximately thirty people, gathered at this restaurant on an early Sunday evening to celebrate the life of my late grandfather. We were accommodated on the entire second floor and the owner and staff were very pleasant to all of us. They not only suggested dishes for us, but also prepared dishes based on our requests. Despite having to serve a large group, we did not have to wait long for our food, which turned out to be excellent. I have since returned to the restaurant and found that the food was still prepared in a fantastic manner. I am surprised by some negative reviews, as our experience was very positive. Great job, guys!

Worst service and food I have had in a long long time. The starters came out 30 mins apart, the mains where the same. The drinks were warm. Told there was no padadoms yet other people that arrived after us got some. When the bill came they over charged by £30. Staff don't have a clue and running around like headless chickens. Asked for food to be packed Up, when we got home we realised many of the dishes were missing. We will never go back to this place again.
