We had a wonderful evening at Griffin in Swithland on November 20, 2018. The food was delightful, especially for those who enjoy meat. The service was excellent, with a constant smile. The starters were intriguing and the beef brisket was delicious, melting in the mouth. The portions were a good size and perfect for sharing. I would definitely try it again, perhaps opting for the langoustines and scallops next time. Thank you for a pleasant experience. Best regards, Yulia.
We are regular patrons of Rutland and Derby and were excited for the pop-up smokehouse event. However, our experience left us disappointed. It seemed like our server was new, as we had to ask for menus and signal for more drinks. The crackling was too hard to eat, but the olives were enjoyable. Our main dishes included half chicken, beef on brioche, slaw, and mash. The chicken was dry, but flavorful, while the slaw was average and the mash was excellent. We provided feedback to a server, who promised to inform the kitchen, but offered no apology. When inquiring about desserts, we were told there was only toffee pudding left, although it was supposed to come with praline ice cream, not vanilla. The sponge was very dry. After raising this issue, we were told the menu had changed recently but hadn't been updated. They removed the dessert from our bill. When we received the final bill, we noticed we were overcharged for extra small plates we didn't order. In summary, some dishes were enjoyable, others were average, and some were disappointing.

We usually love going to the Rutland and Derby, and were really excited about the pop-up whirlpool. We were very disappointed with our experience. We think we might have a new server that we all need to learn, but the service was pretty slow, we had to ask for menus and catch someone's eye to order more drinks. The crack was so heavy that we wanted to eat it. The olives were beautiful. We had half the chicken, the beef on Brioche, the lawn and the mash. The chicken was really dry, although the flavors were really delicious. Slav was okay, Masche was amazing. We fed this back to a server and she said it would be back to the kitchen, but no excuse from it. We asked about Desserts and another server said she had to check what's left. Over 10 minutes later she returned, but from where we sat, we could see in the kitchen and she was chatting there all the time. She let us know that the Toffe pudding was all that was left. We ordered that, but when it came It wasn't the chocolate ice as advertised, but vanilla. And the sponge was extremely dry. We asked a server about it, and again well 8 minutes later she returned and said that the menu was changed the day before, but had not been updated. it looked like the person next to him had the ice you took the dessert from the bill. We asked for the bill, but when it arrived, we were charged and it had to be redeemed again. not for pudding, but for extra small plates we didn't have! Overall, we would say that some things were nice, others moderate and others were not good at all.
