Contribute Feedback What Eva Young likes about Bonzai Sushi:
large small independent restaurant. quiet location with great food. there was not much on the belt, but we ordered from the menu and were not disappointed. the food is cooked from fresh, I would recommend to accompany the Bento boxes and plant wine. service was excellent, much better than yosushi! What Eva Young doesn't like about Bonzai Sushi:
we had excellent service and the food was absolutely delicious. all eating came in good time and the server were very friendly and polite, will definitely return View all feedback.
We went with my friend to the bonzai sushi bar. we ordered gyoza as starter and a lot of sushi as main course. the presentation was excellent and the taste was just as good, I have never eaten so delicious sushi. for everything we ordered, the price was very reasonable and the staff is professional and friendly. we will eat again in this restaurant.
The food was good, although not the best sushi they can in the opposite for the price. the server was pleasant, perhaps overly so and in theatrical wise. he ran between the few tables that were served and apologized for the delays. (we didn't notice any delays.) we were informed when we sat that it was only cash, and I should have seen red flags there. after the completion of our meal we asked for the bill and half of it was written in a printed input and another half by hand with a line, the service charge 10 and the worth. I always tap either by rounding the bill or by leaving from £5 to £10, but I am angry that this was decided for me on a service that brought 3 people a round drink and all eating at once. the service fee has not been notified to us before and is not explicitly specified in the menu, the food prices are already high for what it is. I will not return because of the dishonest practices.
We were greeted in a friendly manner and thought that we were in for a great experience. We had our drinks order taken after about 10 minutes and even though we had made our food choices, YY told us he would deal with the drinks...first and return for the food order. The restaurant was probably only a tenth full so we assumed (wrongly) that the food orders would be taken fairly quickly. 20 minutes later we had to prompt YY that we were hungry and hadn’t ordered our food yet. He apologised insincerely and said that they were very busy! We looked around at the almost empty restaurant and questioned this to be told that they were prioritising their take away customers! Obviously this wasn't what we were expecting to be told especially having pre booked the table several days before. YY was training a couple of new staff members which was fine and although they were smiling and pleasant they were clearly out of their depth. One produced an empty wine glass after having ordered a glass of red wine! The Wagyu beef dish was sent back because it was chewy and inedible it was a poor rump steak at best and Wagyu in name only. The other food was ok but overall the experience and service were extremely disappointing. I would rather have gone to the Macdonalds over the road and I’m not a big fan of the golden arches. Final straw was the Health and Safety. See the picture attached. We won’t return.
Easily the best place in Leicester to get sushi! We wouldn’t go anywhere else. The food is always amazing and the service is even better! YY is a reason to visit this restaurant alone, he is amazing and always goes the extra mile for you....This is 100% our favourite place to eat
