Best Thai food in KC area!!! We've been going here since they opened in 2015. They are the same owners as Baramee in crossroads and another in River Market area. View all feedback.
What Nancy McCartney doesn't like about Mali Thai Bistro:
We usually enjoy ordering from here but our last pick up order is literally half the size we usually get, same with the rice. Really disappointed I understand raising prices but pairing that with cutting down the amount? Not okay. View all feedback.
I always struggle with loud and busy environments, but this place has been a peaceful experience for years. The servers are very friendly and most of all the food has ALWAYS been delicious! I never had any issues here other than eating too much and needing to nap for hours afterwards!
Very expensive for what you get. Isn't great- just adequate.Bubble drink is tiny($10) and mostly ice.
So I have never had a problem with Mali Thai. Other than the occasional dry Pad Thai or when I ask for the spice to be hot…it’s not, but overall the food is always good and the people are always nice. However, today I called in an order and when I arrived the lady asked me my name, I tell her and she said, “ what?” with a frown and a slight attitude, not…I’m sorry what did you say, can you repeat that, etc. Then I asked for soy sauce and she gives me my total, which was different from what I was told over the phone. When I mentioned this, she says she charged me for soy sauce. I told her I’ve never been charged before, she then says…one is free, but not three. Mind you, this is the first time I’ve asked for a specific amount and they usually give me two packets. A very different experience than I’ve ever had so that’s why I gave 2 stars.

I'm genuinely disheartened to share my recent experience with this restaurant, especially after looking forward to a cozy dinner at home. Imagine spending close to $100 on a meal you're excited about, only to be told it'll be ready for pickup in about 30-40 minutes. Sounds reasonable, right? Unfortunately, things didn't quite pan out as expected.Upon arrival, the welcome was anything but warm. A simple inquiry about the wait time was met with a less-than-friendly attitude, which already started to sour the experience. We were told, somewhat dismissively, to wait another 15-20 minutes. No problem, we thought, and decided to step out and return after a short while. However, when we came back, hoping our dinner was finally ready to be taken home, the greeting was even chillier. Asking for an update seemed to annoy the staff member further, who repeated the 15-20 minute wait time with a tone that felt unwelcoming. All we wanted was a clear answer or estimate on how much longer our food would take, but it seemed like too much to ask for.Honestly, it's disappointing. We weren't expecting red carpet treatment, just some basic courtesy and communication. Sadly, this experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I'm pretty sure it was my last visit to this restaurant.
