The vegetarian menu was quite limited, but the quality of the food was significantly better than it had been in previous years. While the prices were not cheap, they were on par with those of other pubs in the area.

We decided to try the vegetarian roast dinner, which was priced the same as a turkey dinner - but the trimmings for the vegetarian option had to be paid for extra. The turkey dinner came with Yorkshire pudding, gravy, and more vegetables, while the vegetarian option required additional vegetables to be added on. This seems to be a common occurrence where vegan options come with smaller portions and added costs. Even the potatoes were served in smaller portions for the vegetarians compared to the meat eaters. Despite the discrimination in portion sizes, the food was good and the vegetarian roast was tasty. However, it should ideally be priced around £10 instead of around £13, considering the small meal size without adding on extras. #Veganuary

From a friendly and efficient booking in and up the wonderful old staircase to the roomy accommodation with a big , clean , white tiled bathroom and a king size... read more From a friendly and efficient booking in and up the wonderful old staircase to the roomy accommodation with a big , clean , white tiled bathroom and a king sized , very comfortable bed .Well stocked bar and a very good menu ensured that we were well insulated against the cold when we headed out. Free WiFi and free parking makes it good value for money
