While some guests raved about the attentive staff and well-prepared dishes, like perfectly cooked steaks and delicious fish and chips, others reported disappointments, including missing menu items and cold dishes. The overall atmosphere received mixed feedback, characterized as either welcoming or lacking warmth. Although some found the prices steep, especially for drinks, favorable service and accommodating staff were noted as redeeming qualities. Improvements in the menu offerings, especially for Sunday lunches, are anticipated, promising a more refined dining experience in the future.
The restaurant, conveniently located in the hotel, serves high-quality food with perfect portion sizes. The scallops were fresh and tasty.
The dinner menu is quite simple, offering options like fish and chips, burgers, steaks, and curry. The breakfast buffet is only lukewarm at best, with cold plates. It is best to avoid this restaurant if possible.
Our last visit was a significant improvement, possibly due to the lockdown sharpening the focus on the type of service the hotel should offer. The food was well displayed and delicious, though it still seemed a bit expensive. Tabitha provided excellent and enjoyable service, making our experience even more pleasant. She is a delightful member of the staff.
First visit to Cast Iron after some golf, lovely food and Really great service from Elisa the waitress! So friendly and was always on hand when we needed her. Thank you Elisa.
The Cast Iron Bar Grill is now located in the old Priory restaurant and it is such a shame to see how this once wonderful restaurant has fallen into chaos. Poorly staffed, the staff try their hardest, but having to wait 50 minutes from when ordering a drink to actually receiving it is appalling with food that is edible at best but vastly overpriced.
