I was quite impressed with the food I had here. My halloumi burger was nice and very filling and the service was very quick even though the place was very busy being a Saturday lunchtime.It is quite a small restaurant and everything is a bit squashed. I visited your restaurant today and was met with unwelcoming staff. I made a mistake with my order (my fault) and when I inquired about it, I was rudely informed that it was correct. After the waitress left, I overheard her making disrespectful comments about me near the cash register. I have never felt so insulted, embarrassed, and belittled in a restaurant before. I couldn't wait to leave. I will never be returning under any circumstances. Despite the rude service and insults, I was still forced to pay a service charge that the staff would not remove, even after I requested it. The woman in the pink sweater, who appeared to be a manager, was the one making the disrespectful comments. As for the food, it seemed undercooked and I did not feel comfortable asking the waitress to have it fixed, as I did not want to endure further humiliation.
This restaurant is very disappointing. The bathrooms were filthy and could use a good scrub with bleach. The overall appearance of the place is run down and in need of a renovation. The service was decent, but that's the only positive thing I can say. Two small beef tacos and a few chips were not satisfying, especially for the price of £40 for two people. In contrast, we went to a lovely country pub and had two roast dinners with desserts and drinks for just £50. We also visited Gino's restaurant, which had a much nicer atmosphere, where we shared a delicious pizza for only £15. It's best to avoid Giraffe altogether.
Such disappointing customer service. Rude staff. Misinformed about skimmed milk (told they had it by one staff member but assured rather rudely by the person who delivered my latte that they don’t have it) So called tostado actually appeared to be a burrito Asked for box to put leftovers in and the response was “shouldn’t think so we do t have many boxes left over. She stumped off and found a box. Seriously… have a word with your staff about customer service. Smiles are always welcome! And a bit more of a “can do” attitude wouldn’t go amiss. People tell me they think that American staff are “fake” because they are positive, smiley, friendly and warm, but I would rather at least leave feeling vaguely cared about. We did not feel that here.
Firstly no issues with our server, she was very attentive...food selected and served without a hitch and enjoyable up until I noticed a different server cough into her hands, wipe them on her jeans and then touch her hair!!! Really, this is basic hygiene (or lack of) regardless of whether you work in hospitality or not, I did point this out to her directly to which she apologised and said she would wash her hands only to then witness a chef in an open kitchen wipe his nose then go and handle food without washing them??? Absolute disbelief...addressed my issues with a manager (I think, she was wearing a love heart cardi) off she went, no feedback from her and a bill for two at almost £70.00 inc service charge. When I approached the manager to ask why she 'd not come back to me, all I got was that she 'd spoken to them and it was a natural reaction and what do you want me to do??? it 's really NOT acceptable, it 's an absolute disgrace.
Fantastic experience, we had breakfast this morning and everything was absolutely perfect. We eat out quite a lot and don’t really leave many reviews but this time we definitely thought it would be a good idea to pass on our thoughts. The place is evidently run very well by the management as all the staff were so polite and took a genuine interest as to what we were doing with the rest of our day. The food was cooked perfectly not greasy at all and presented beautifully. There’s not many times you can go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and not find something that wasn’t up to scratch but this Breakfast was faultless. (We decided to come to your restaurant after standing for 15 minutes outside Carluccio’s being ignored)
