Any good reviews were for him, his staff and the food but, sadly, he has sold out to people who do not appear to care. I recently visited with my mother, not knowing it had changed hands until we went inside. It was not as pristine as it usually was and, being a Friday and normally (Covid aside) difficult to find a seat, there were 3 people inside, all of whom had almost finished their meals. There was a tray of dirty dishes on one table, which remained in situ for at least 30 minutes, and menu boards above the counter have been replaced by tacky garlands of paper flowers which will be dust catchers over a food counter. I placed our order which, having taken 25 minutes to arrive, was wrong.; one meal was served with chips, when I’d ordered fish and peas, and the bread and butter was missing; the peas were brought when I queried it and I was given 2 slices of bread and butter. When I said I’d only ordered, and paid for, one slice, the waitress took 3 x half slices away, leaving me with half a slice! I think she heard me talking to my Mum about the dirty dishes having been on the table a long time, so they were removed, but not with good grace. To the meal itself the batter on my fish was thin and soggy, and the pile of chips consisted mainly of scraps, which were inedible, and which I put on the side plate. I asked if they had any sweeteners for Mum’s tea, but was told they don’t “do” sweeteners. One of the (3) other customers had a pack in her bag, and kindly gave us a couple. Never, ever again will we visit this once wonderful fish restaurant in fact, it is now just a chippie, and not a very nice one at that. Give it a miss folks; it’s awful.

I received the order just to find that mine and my Mums drink had been missed off the order, the first thing I thought was the driver may have stolen them as I know Uber isn't exactly trustworthy but the bag was completely sealed, I then called the restaurant to ask about the drinks just for them to say we will have to get a refund, any other restaurant would have apologised and dropped them off. I am absolutely disgusted, never had a problem with them until now, I'm guessing this is to do with the new owner.
