My wife and I stopped in and were treated very nicely. Bought cinnamon bread (made for excellent French toast! , cinnamon roll (a different twist on a classic and I was very happy with it , pretzel rolls, and pretzels. The pretzels were correct in the German tradition of how they should be made, but were better than any I've had outside of Germany. (My mom is German, her brother is a chef and runs his own restaurant..... View all feedback.
What JS WP doesn't like about Bavarian Bakery:
Why are unsuspecting tourists treated this way. Specifically asked if the Pretzel was fresh. Upon being assured it was, we bought half a dozen for the road. Trust me, raw leather is softer and of course, tastier. NEVER again. Feel stupid. View all feedback.
As a native Bavarian I have to say this place is absolutely fantastic! Went there this morning with my wife and three kids. Breads, pastries, cakes everything is so authentic! Exceptional quality and so tasty! The pretzels are even better than back home in Bavaria, I must admit! And even the interior is absolutely authentic (not phony like some of the other places in town). It looks like in a real Bavarian village.
We needed to pick up a breakfast on our way back home and this place did not disappoint. I got a bear claw filled with a poppyseed filling and my husband got a cinnamon roll. Both tasted amazing and were just what we wanted—lots of flavor, perfect texture and not overly sweet. And we also took home a loaf of freshly made rye that we can’t wait to dog into once we get home. We will make it a point to stop here anytime we are in Leavenworth.
Had the jalapeno and cheddar bagel and it did not disappoint, would definitely recommend.
This is a small bakery with limited hours but their pretzel is amazing! The spicy mustard is also top notch. We returned twice just for a pretzel and consider it the best we've ever had. Not the cleanest place and a very small selection but the pretzel is worth at least an hour drive. I would definitely return just to eat the pretzel with mustard.
Breads pastries are pretty good… but the coffee is quite bad so get coffee elsewhere.
