Harbour
Description
Nestled in the heart of West Cork, The Harbour Bar offers a culinary journey marked by stark contrasts. Diners rave about the excellent fish and chips, praised for flaky haddock and generous portions. Many highlight the friendly staff and vibrant ambiance, making it a popular spot for both tourists and locals. However, some unfortunate experiences mar the establishment’s reputation, with complaints about greasy food, aggressive staff interactions, and lackluster service. While the chowder and chicken dishes receive accolades, inconsistencies in meal quality and customer service may cause hesitation for future visits. Overall, The Harbour Bar presents a unique yet polarizing dining experience.

We were here with friends and found this pub to be very cozy. We can only recommend it.
We stopped by for dinner and enjoyed it so much that we returned the following day. The fish and chips were excellent, with flaky haddock. The chicken burger was very moist. The salad and chips were also good. The next day, we had a fabulous chowder with homemade brown bread and a lovely toasted special. The restaurant offers good value and service. A shout out to Molly Ashling and Michael. We will definitely be back again.
We dined at this restaurant twice during our vacation. The first time was on a Sunday afternoon after visiting the Lagoon activity centre. We sat outside at one of the many large tables with plenty of space. We all ordered the roast beef carvery, which was delicious and of good quality. The portions for kids were very generous. The second visit was on a Monday afternoon a week later, where we ordered from the regular menu. We enjoyed dishes such as cajun chicken burger, steak sandwich, and the kids had pizza and pasta. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and could not find any faults. Despite reading negative reviews beforehand, we found the waiting staff and service to be excellent. I even made a point to praise this to our waiter on our second visit. The chef also personally came out to chat with us and other customers both times we dined there. This restaurant is a great choice if you are in the area. Additionally, be sure to visit Leap waterfall next door, as it is free and offers an interesting history of the area along with a view of the waterfall from the cantilever bridge!
We had a great experience at this restaurant in West Cork. The pint of Murphy's was excellent and reasonably priced at €5. The girls enjoyed their tea and red wine. We didn't try the food this time, but the locals were friendly and welcoming. This place has become a regular stop for us whenever we are in the area.
