La Hacienda Family - Leamington

In 2006, Leamington had the highest percentage of Latin American residents in Canada, at 4.9%. According to the 2016 Canadian Census, there were 3,225 immigrants from Mexico living in Leamington. This influx has created a demand for various services, including several restaurants and food shops. One standout is La Hacienda, which captures the vibrant ranchero spirit of the Hispanic community in the area. At La Hacienda, you can enjoy a range of traditional dishes such as enchiladas, Chihuahua-style tacos, and carne asada. The carne asada is particularly noteworthy, featuring grilled, marinated steak that is tender and flavor-packed.

The restaurant is good, but they have increased their prices a bit too much.

I walked in and felt like everyone was staring at me. The prices were reasonable, but the portions were quite small. The waitress kept coughing, which was unsettling. It was hard to find someone who could understand our orders, as many staff members didn't speak English. Our meals got mixed up, and after we sent them back, they never came out again. We ended up leaving without eating. The kid's meal looked unappetizing, and they didn’t eat either. The food was cold, and there were no nachos or salsa offered—it didn't resemble traditional Mexican food at all. I recommend saving your time and money.

They love the place and the food we had ordered. Although they don't understand English, they tried to understand us about eating.

Shrimp cocktail was good. Nice staff for a busy day.
