The owner was very friendly and helpful explaining the dishes. We ordered a plate with beans, pulled beef, plantain, two fried eggs and arepas as well as a small salad and a pulled chicken arepas. Plenty of food for two to share. The food was freshly made and delivered to our table with hot sauce, garlic sauce, and two salad dressings. All the food was delicious but the arepas were fabulous! Hot. Crispy on the outside. Tender inside. The cosy restaurant quickly filled up as we finished our meal in the early evening. Dine in or take out this family run restaurant is recommended.
Stopped with sister for lunch. Been meaning to try for awhile. Owner was very amiable, answered all questions. He gave me a special, an Arepas with pulled beef and pulled chicken, mozzarrella cheese an some feta. Came with fries. WOW! The flavours were just amazing! My sister had a plate of the Aroz rice a small salad. Very tasty. Will be back for sure. Highly recommended.
Cruising home from Michigan, we decided to walk around Leamington to find a place to eat. Decided to try La Casa De Las Arepas because we've never tried Venezuelan food. The place was fairly small and quiet. The menu is in Spanish and English. The owner was very helpful explaining what each dish is. We each tried something different, arepas, tacos and a combo platter. The food was so good we each had to try each other's dishes. Prices were similar to fast food, but the food is amazing. They also sell bags of homemade Chicharron to take home and they were amazing. will certainly go back next time we're in Leamington
Today is Friday Nov, 11, 2016. I have been driving by this particular location in my home town of Leamington for a few months now and have noticed that this particular restaurant has somehow outlasted several other Mexican cuisine establishments by far. Some only stayed open for a matter of a few weeks before closing. I read a couple of reviews from non Tripadvisor web sites that gave the place 5 out of 5 stars. Now after reviewing hundreds of restaurants I find everyone of 5 reviews being 5 stars a little suspicious so a personal visit was in order. First of all there is no parking available other than hard to get street parking within a city block. The inside of the restaurant is clean but somewhat very worn. The three person staff were very pleased to see me (probably because there were only two other customers there at the time) as well as being very polite. Now the specialty of the house is something called Arepas which is also part of the name of the restaurant. Now an Arepasis a cross between a pita and a large hamburg bun. The major difference is that the Arepas are made up from scratch only when they are ordered. I ordered one stuffed with pulled beef and cheese. There is also a choice of pork and or chicken. My order was a combo that came with fries and a soft drink. My first time Arepas was very good and it came hot and tasty with a light crunchy crust on top and bottom. Each order comes with plastic squeeze bottles of sauces from creamy garlic to two semi hot ones. Now I know I only gave the place three stars out of five but I always look at the entire picture of each restaurant I visit. Location, cleanliness, overall opinion about the staff, seating, etc, etc. Food does come into the picture but I have eaten at many places that had closed shortly after opening because the missed on a few of these things I look for. Would I go back to this place. PROBABLY YES.
