Tacos La Mina - Leadville
Tacos La Mina
Description
A compact, authentic Mexican spot serving fresh street tacos, birria, tortas and other regional favorites with quick, friendly service. Lively, casual atmosphere—mariachi on the speakers, TV sports, and a sunlit patio—makes it a popular stop for locals, travelers and hunters. Drinks include margaritas and beer; there's even a drive‑thru option. Some diners note inconsistent torta portions, limited table condiments, and self‑service drink/cleanup expectations, but overall the food is praised for genuine flavor and value.

The food here is fantastic and truly authentic. Everything is made fresh and served quickly, complemented by a friendly staff. My son and I eagerly anticipate our hunting trips because we often stop by for a warm, delicious meal.
We discovered this restaurant on Yelp and had a fantastic experience! The tacos were amazing—we tried the pollo, pastor, birria, and pork. We also enjoyed chicken enchiladas and tortas. The service was friendly, and our orders were prepared quickly. Everything was delicious, and we will definitely make an effort to return when we're passing through Leadville!
This is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to since the Taco Dollar Truck in L.A. This place is real Mexican food. They’ve got tortas, they’ve got street tacos (made with the little corn tortillas, two of them, cilantro, onion, lime and salsa as your taco toppings), they’ve got lengua and birria, they even misspelled cheese dip on their menu. They were playing mariachis on the speakers and bull riding on the TV. As a chicana from LA, this is the spot to come eat.
Torta was not all that great. It was lacking enough meat for the bun. No salsa provided other than going to where you order and find unmarked squeeze bottles that you have to leave there (germs? .
