We live nearby, therefore this place is our frequent choice for a night out either in a family setting or with friends. We kept coming back to this place because we have always been treated nicely by the personnel and the managers and the food is of a consistently high quality, and we often follow the suggestions of the staff on the day specials, which are usually good. What User doesn't like about L'Ocean:
We were craving fish so we decided to give this place a chance. We showed up on a Friday night without a reservation. However, there were only a few tables of people of that point. We were seated then it took a while for them to take our drink order. The table next to us was shown the special menu before we were and we were there before them. It took awhile for the waiter to return for our order. Even though this was... View all feedback.
This restaurant is a favorite of one of my clients and I have been on two occasions. The theme is clearly nautical, with painting of working fishing boats, ship models and the staff wearing the traditional blue and white stripped jerseys favored by French fisherman. The food is well presented with an excellent range of seafood, and the days fresh catch highlighted on a blackboard menu. I had a delicious sashimi starter followed by lobster with tagliatelle noodles. This was surprisingly a little bland and need lost of extra seasoning with salt and pepper at the table. The Rum Baba dessert is a meal in its own right, only to be taken on by the truly hungry. The restaurant is in the upmarket Le Pecq area so its prices are a little higher than you might expect.
Absolutelly woth going out of the confort area of metro amd explore it Fantastic food and wine Good service Faire price.
We had a very pleasant lunch at L 'Ocean. The food was really great and we particularly enjoyed the aile de raie and the Morue. A good place to go for seafood amateurs
Last saturday lunchtime, we decided to go back to L'Océan after a long break due to several disappointments. The welcome was smiley and friendly as well as the service. They must have changed of cook as the fish and products were cooked to perfection. Octopus was tender and fabulous and the gambas with chorizo mashed potatoes was delicious. They still have their famous big baba au rhum! We really had a good lunch in a nice atmosphere. We recommend and we'll go again as it's really nice to have a great fish and seafood place not far from home and not always in Paris :
It's one of those restaurants that's an institution in Le Vésinet, and is quite often pretty much full. We'd not been , but knew that it needed to be checked out. Nothing to complain about at all in terms of food; excellent crab starter, and beautiful sole meuniere. Also a very interesting fish choucroute. Waiters were very polite and efficient, and the wine (Pouilly Fumé was excellent. Of course, it's pricey. At 44€ for the sole menuiere you have to take cost into account..
