Family friendly warm nice place. Interesting selection of Alsatian cuisine. I love the entrecôte steak with mushroom sauce! Very good duck (canard). Sometimes for something extra we order Saint-Jacques, or escargot. Sometimes there is a bit of room for ice cream with chocolate. When we are in a bit of a hurry or want something light there is large selection of tart flambe options, cooked in a nice wood oven. Good sel... View all feedback.
What Koray Berberoğlu doesn't like about Au Chant du Bois:
Don't go, at least outside of summertime. With one grill per table, and no ventilation, eating at this restaurant felt like being in a big oily kitchen. The pizza I ordered was absolutely inedible. Terrible value for money, and we left hungry. View all feedback.
My husband and I ate here last week. We liked our dishes (we definitely recommend the salmon dish and the Tiramisu with chocolate, delicious! . Service: we thought the waiters do a good job to serve us quite quickly and friendly, except for some moments when they seemed really busy and in a hurry, this was distracting and did not welcome us or really well maintained (just another client idea). This is a point of improvement; yet a big restaurant with good food!
Excellent dinner at a very fair price considering the choice and the portions. Numerous waiters took care of them (without being overwhelming). And they were nice with our young children. Get the title of Maistre Restaurateur
We like this place when we're with the grandchildren. We did not eat inside, but there is a large terrace next to, but from the street, and it is usually packed with families and children. The menu is large, the food plentiful, and the service busy, but good. This time I chose a prawn and scallop brochette followed by crème brûlée, and my wife a goat cheese salad with the same dessert. We drank beer and tap water and ended with a free Mirabelle schnapps. The prices are very fair.
An enormous selection and selection of dishes, but everything we tried was good and of high quality. We were a family of five two consecutive nights after a first great experience. The place was busy but service was helpful and patient. The pizza was excellent, but other remarkable dishes are the fillet steak, canard steak and grilled shrimp. Beautiful generous deserts were the traditional vines, chocolate mousses and chocolate cakes.
Been there because it was recommended at least by three different people. We had a beef brochette and a simple marguerite pizza. Although the portion of meat was generous it was absolutely not seasoned! It was served with some sort of roast potatoes without salt and an industrial salad dressing...The pizza was really ordinary and the sauce way too sweet... And to me when the marguerite pizza is good the reat can only be good. This is why I don't understand how come the place is full all the time.... We may have missed something...
