Le Nez Rouge - Le Mans

Excellent du début à la fin. Une bonne surprise pour ce restaurant. Après discussion avec quelques commerçants, tout le monde le connaît et en est ravis. Bravo et merci !

This restaurant is definitely a popular place in the old historic centre of Le Mans. So, we were quite lucky to get a table. It's clear one should make a reservation to be sure of a meal in this small restaurant that doubles its capacity with its outside terrace. It all started very promising with a very tasty appetizer and a magnificent first course! Then came the best trou Normand I have ever had: a lemon sherbet that was just divine! The main dish was also very good. But unfortunately it ended with a total failure: the desserts! What a disappointment! It's quite obvious the chef is not very gifted when it comes to making desserts. And that is a real pity. We took the Menu Gourmand (22,90 euro for entrée - trou Normand - plat - dessert) and were really very happy with it until the desserts were served. Because it is you final dish, you leave the restaurant with a bit of a negative feeling. That's why this place should really put in an effort to get the desserts to the same level as the rest of the menu. Another effort should go to the service that lacks some friendliness.

Ce soir, nous voulions aller dans ce restaurant au vue du menu qui nous paraissait très intéressant. A peine rentré, nous demandons une table. Les seuls mots que nous entendrons «c'est complet, au revoir» sur un ton sec. Pas très agréable...

Dîner d'anniversaire de mariage un peu gâché à la fois par une serveuse revêche et deux couples hollandais bruyants qui s'interpelaient d'une table à l'autre. A notre remarque à la serveuse il nous a été signifié que les touristes rapportaient davantage que les locaux ! Dommage la cuisine est inventive.

Réception digne d'une cantine publique, prestation nécessitant une grande patience pour arriver à ses faims...Une assiette qui reste banale...Vous déconseille si vous voulez passer un bon moment...
