Eat good and wee in an auberge in the correze. it was one of the best meal times we had in our 2 week trip in france. traditional French food and good menu
A wonderful Sunday dinner here was characterized by an imaginative menu, a flawless cooking, more attentive (but not via intrusive) service and a round friendly professionalism. I can't think of a single thing that was wrong with our meal or the ambiente surrounding his joy. the. excellent wine list was a crowning delight. during the week a 15 euro lunch menu is excellent for four courses. the previous negative comments here (of people who believe that British expectations are the norms all over the world) reflect my experience of this excellent auberge in a charming village that has been thrown away in the deep of correze is not reflected. a word for our friends from the English home counties: the internet is a predominantly English language phenomenon. in france this goes to live for many people without it being perfect. try to get out of the cyber bubble for a because, they use the phone to talk to the hotel, directly with the people who work hard to make them welcome in their country, to understand their cultural particularity, and even try to learn some of the languages. they can find that they are taken a little more seriously. otherwise I can no longer recommend this device very much.
Parfait. service brilliant. more cheerful. I could not do enough for us. eat large and plentiful portions. wee and coffee included in the menu du jour price. very friendly. worth a visit.
That was the second time I had eaten here. for the first time we were three who were ignored for five minutes before we sit, although there were few diners and then we waited too long for menus, water., brot. the a la carte main was acceptable. second time, sixteen places reserved, wait a long time before we were invited to sit. for easy operation we went for the menu du jour, but there was a general reluctant for the nutritional requirements, even vegetarian. starter [chevre/miel with an salat leaf or two was ok. the main, stuffed vegetables, smells misleading tasty it was bland to say the least, and the supposedly meat stuff was not a threat to the local animal life. desserts were good. I should mention that the vegetarian chief was enjoyed. house wine, which is more than usual in this area, and coffee more than twice as expensive if you are on table instead of bar. all sixteen were English, always on the look for nice restaurants to take our visitors; we will not recommend this which is a pity because it has been tastefully renovated. I can't imagine that the locals are impressed by the fact that the parking spaces in front are now full of tables, chairs and planners, leave the church and dress business to park off-street. oh, and we were apparently too loud sixteen people talking in the rule means a snuck but not here. typical of the cool recipe. our waiter was friendly and helpful so we make sure that he was properly rewarded, not his senior.
We spent a very pleasant evening in this resto whilst having a birthday break camping in nearby Treignac. The restaurant is not too large, perhaps catering for about 50, so it could become busy, but on the night we visited there were three couples and...a party of four, all ably served from the hostess alone. The food on offer was locally sourced and cooked with both care and panache and served with accompaniments that were decorative and both tasty and fulfilling. The wine list was not large but did cover for anything that was offered on the menu's or carte and at very reasonable prices. One good offer was made to us, as one was driving the wine was re-corked without question to be finished in the luxury of our tent. I have no problem in highly recommending this restaurant. which as an aside, also offers a few rooms, so next time we will most probably stay over (and finish the wine with more style).
