What Lizzie Flatley doesn't like about Le restaurant du MuMa:
I don't understand how a great place like this can be with a great view of the harbour entrance and the interior of the museum in this. the food is in order, but hygiene does not seem to meet the standards. View all feedback.
I love the MuMA (museum) . We tried the restaurant two days ago. We had a lovely salad and a pichet of wine. The service was great and the waiters were attentive. Shame the decor is not more stylish for a museum restaurant.
This museum does not pay a mine from the outside, but the interior is beautiful. Large volumes, beautiful spaces. The permanent collection is rich in impressionist painters, especially local. We will discover the work of Eugene Boudin, the paintings of Raoul Dufy and others.
Uncontournable. If we go to Le Havre, we have to come. It is pleasantly possible to enjoy its perched restaurant in front of the port entrance and the time of a meal will be much enough to enjoy a small maritime life. Inputs and outings of boats are frequent and this is not uncommon, because traffic is dense, to see container and/or shippers. On the left of the entrance and facing the sea, you will have to think of taking a look at the Signal, imposing sculpture renamed "The Eye" by the Havrais. Look at this, always an eye story, to guess why.
Come a day of particle, to enjoy the freshness of the exhibition rooms. Beautiful museum with modern and functional architecture. Temporary exhibition on the wind, interesting and including beautiful works (V. Hugo, Valloton, Meissonnier ... . Permanent work upstairs, shown on a rolling basis? We are a little frustrated to miss some of them, which we only see on postcards (for example, the Parliament of London, by Monet. Beautiful things, with a little too much E. Boudin ... Monet, Renoir, Valloton, Marquet, Pissarro, Courbet, etc. Very impressed by the two busts of the Nubiens, Charles Cordier. A mention for a superb canvas by Nicolas de Staël. Also 2 beautiful landscapes of Georges Michel. Anyway, a museum is worth a visit. I forgot: an excellent meal at the museum restaurant (unfortunately non-climate: delicious grilled fennel!
Le Havre. Welcome. Very beautiful museum. A very rich permanent collection. Monet Pissaro, Sisley etc. I loved the temporary exhibition The Wind Well located opposite the promenade along the sea.
