We decided to explore Ile d'Oleron today and happened across this place. I had the risotto with lotte and chorizo and it was amazing. Hubby had the fish tartare and loved his also. The seasoning in both was perfect obviously the chef knows what he's doing. They have a very respectable house rosé also and the service was great. If I'm in the area again I will definitely go back. Prices are very reasonable 2 mains and... View all feedback.
What Brody Kreiger doesn't like about l'Annex Bar:
we asked for the beer cart. There was no cart. The waitor was the cart. We ordered 2 leffe big beer. We became the house beer for 12 euros. When we made a comment that we not got the right beer we got the right beer but we had to pay extra because suddenly there was a beer card. The extra costs were 4 euro. When we said that we did not want to pay because they made the mistake the waitress treathened with the Police... View all feedback.
Looking at the pictures of the bar, you would expect a cool relax place. And that's how the bar is run: cool and relax resulting in slow and sloppy service. Have a drink there, enjoy the scenery. expect no more...
Great food, location and friendly staff. We don’t speak French very well but the staff were helpful. The food service was quick and food was very tasty. We have 2 dogs which were allowed inside and water was given for them upon request. We would definitely come back.

When we said that we did not want to pay because they made the mistake the waitress treathened with the Police and finally she trowed us out with our beer in plastic glasses. Real bad restaurant with real abnormal prices for drinks. Do not go there.
Two fussy eater kids, a coeliac and a dustbin like me food was lovely came to about 90 euros for a decent spread of tapas, thai fish, whitebait and fish and chips for the kids. plenty of space to sit in and out and nicely placed next to the port opposite the fort. After browsing the multitude of arts and crafts, salt sellers, soaps etc it was ideally placed and didnt disappoint. Well worth a visit.
Delicious Coffee. 2 large Coffee’s for under €6. Nice view and friendly staff. Pretty cool and trendy but not pretentious.
