The restaurant attached to the grocery has some of the best Mexican food around.
Delicious authentic Mexican food made fresh to order. With attached Mexican grocery store, the restaurant has immediate access to ingredients needed for meals--when, for example, I requested wheat tortillas. Highly recommend tacos al pastor (seasoned grilled pork) as well as barbacoa (slow-cooked sheep) available on weekends. Wash it down with Mexican Coke (sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup), a variety of Mexican sodas, or homemade horchata (sweet rice drink).
The restaurant attached to La Canasta is a hidden gem. An authentic step into Mexican cuisine, the prices are great and the food is scrumptious! Weekends only, there is also barbacoa on the menu, a kind of bighorn sheep that is served with a tasty sauce (not spicy), along with rice beans. Well worth trying if you're adventurous!

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I was referred by someone. It is a small family-owned place. The food was amazing, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. I ordered two gorditas with chicharron pork skin and one taco of tripas, which was probably the best I have had in a long time. I really love these types of places - small, family-owned, nothing fancy, but with delicious food.
