Zibo! - Laval

We were told 15-20 minute wait for a table...the wait was over an hour. The barmaid gave me a chipped martini glass because they were out of glasses and told me to drink from the straw. Our waitress did not recognize the dishes we ordered from the English menu. And she was eager to give us the bill.

Stopped here on the way back to Montreal from the Outlet Mall, having visited and enjoyed the Zibo Centre-Ville earlier on our trip. We really enjoyed our meals, and over zealously ordered courses each. Calamari, Caprese salad, Crispy Chicken Rolls and Fried Zucchini were...all enjoyed to start all with generous portions. Main courses we had included Spaghetti bolognese, roasted veg pizza, prosciutto pizza, and the burger. All were enjoyed and the pizzas had to be taken home to finish as they were too big! Cocktails were also good, and staff were friendly and efficient. Quite busy restaurant on a Wednesday night, and pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyable food and would recommend!!

Came here on a busy Friday and sat at the bar with my husband. Service was on point from beginning to end. Nice atmosphere. Food was pretty good. Had the chicken nems, like a spring role, tuna tatami was delicious. My husband had a chicken...burger and I had a salad. All were very good. Maybe lacking a touch of flavour in the dressing but overall we enjoyed it. We will be back!

The appetizer was soup of the day and it was very warm and great. I ordered Zibo’s salmon tartar for the main dish, It wasn’t anything special, and tasted like spicy sushi to be honest. The aftertaste was nothing. It felt like it’s missing something...to be honest. The fries that came with it were so salty that I couldn’t eat them. Perhaps a lemon based mayonnaise would have helped for the fries but the mayo they put on my dish was old.

As many restaurants I have been to in Centropolis, I never went to Zibo. I have to say I was impressed. Big establishment and for a Thursday it was full. Our waiter was just ok not very pleasant and it took him long to come...see us between drinks and meal. Then again they were probably understaffed and he had to manage many tables. We had some wine and beer and we each had a different meal. I had the steak sandwich which was really tasty. My husband had the pizza with buffalo mozzarella which was excellent. Our other guests each had a pasta plate which they said was great. We finished off with key lime pie, nutella cake and apple cake which one was better then the other. I will go back .
