So, I chose a restaurant we all enjoy and wa... read more My 17 and 12 year old children wanted to take me out to celebrate my 50th birthday and insisted they wanted to pay. So, I chose a restaurant we all enjoy and was within their price range.Since it was a Tuesday night, we bought one appetizer and got one free. Freebies are always a good thing! We had calamari and onion soup - both were ok. My son had a Caesar's salad...very fresh and good.My son had fish'n chips, which was a nice portion. My daughter had baked lasagna - she enjoyed it. I had the Chicken Brochette, with rice and salad...the portion was HUGE! The rice was cooked perfectly - not mushy at all, a bit on the al dente side just the way I like it. My daughter and I had half of our meals doggy bagged to bring home because there was so much food. And how much did it cost? $53!!! AMAZING!!! It is a great family restaurant, with decent food, at a great price. What more can you ask for?

When we arrived, there was no one at the reception to greet... read more However, our recent experience on January 25, 2020 at 12:30 at the Laval location was disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception to greet us or instruct us to wait. We found our friend seated at a poorly lit table towards the back, and requested a table closer to the window due to my poor eyesight following a cataract operation. The waiter apologized for not having menus and we ordered our usual dish of chicken skewers and coffee. When we received the bill, we realized we were charged $19 for the dish instead of the usual $14.50. We asked to see the menu to confirm the price, and were met with hostility from a young man with a ponytail, who was condescending and rude. He insisted that we pay and leave immediately, behaving as if he owned the restaurant. We were taken aback by his unprofessional attitude and left the restaurant feeling disrespected. As three seniors, we have never experienced such poor treatment in a restaurant and will not be returning to Barbie's where we were treated so unfairly.
