Allo Mon Coco - Laval
Allo Mon Coco
Description
Allo Mon Coco's expansion has sacrificed quality for quantity, with rushed service in noisy, factory-like settings. While some dishes are generous and delicious, others disappoint with cold food and lacking fruit. Prices are high for mediocre fare, and additional charges for cheese on potatoes feel unfair. However, the restaurant's comfort and space make it popular for large groups. For a quieter, tastier breakfast experience, consider other local options like Dejeuner on St. Johns or Kitchen 73. Ultimately, Allo Mon Coco falls short in delivering a truly memorable breakfast experience worth the price.

I enjoy dining at this restaurant located near my home. It was the first branch of the Allo Mon Coco franchise, with the owner also serving as the cook. This personal touch makes the restaurant unique and cozy. There may be a short wait of 5 minutes before you are seated, depending on the time of your visit.
A good breakfast place with a ton of variety and huge portions. Their potatoes are delicious, which is likely what this restaurant differs from the others. Most of the breakfast restaurants have deep potatoes, but here the potatoes are probably boiled and then fry pan, so they end up a bit like a very cloby mash. Sounds funny, but it's delicious. What annoyed me most was the strange pricing, especially the “two eggs plus 3 ingredients” and “2 eggs plus 4 ingredients”. These two dishes were very expensive and included FEWER ingredients as some cheaper dishes on the menu. You can have a fully loaded dish, with eggs, 3 meats, beans baked, cretons, pancakes (etc) for about $16, but if you take “2 eggs plus 4 ingredients”, you have less stuff and it was about $21. It doesn't make any sense. You really need to check these “plus x ingredients” options so that they are equivalent to the rest.
My family and I went to this restaurant for breakfast on a Saturday morning and it was very busy! The breakfast items were very good, a bit pricier than Kitchen 73 but definitely worth it. I think they have a better selection of dishes. The plates had a lot of potatoes on them. I highly recommend checking it out!
Had a wonderful breakfast in this allo mon coco location. Been to some of them and they are consistent and always receive great service...
My best friend and I have brunch together every weekend, and must have visited a half dozen or so restaurants in this chain in and around the Island of Montreal. This was our first visit to this particular one, and we found it lacking as compared to the others. Service was just so-so. The eggs in my salami omelet were gummy, and the breakfast potatoes were lacking in flavour. We won't be returning here
