this place does not seem to get much attention in the sebel hotel, but it should be because my eating experience here was excellent. both breakfast was good (Bacon/Eggs and apfel zimtbrei). tee was served with real tee leaves instead of tee bags. the evening meal began with Naan bread with a trio of dips. the naan was very warm and exactly the right amount crispy. the entrance of the mushroom laksa was a brave choice... What Gregg Okuneva doesn't like about Market Square Restaurant & Bar @ The Sebel Launceston:
This is probably one of the best restaurants in town, but didn’t get much attention. Asian inspired dishes, dedicated food, can see the heart within these dishes, nice environment and friendly service. View all feedback.
I have just enjoyed a wonderful pink snapper at Market Square in the Sebel Launceston Balance of flavours was excellent and complimented by a great selection of wine
The spicy chicken was everything you'd hope for - tender, juicy, extra tasty and the cauliflower 'rice' superb. A dash of vinegar made it magnificent, and I relished every mouthful. My husband said his barramundi was excellent. Good to see so many in the restaurant on a Wed evening too. Very cosy when it's cold outside.
The meal was delicious and the service was excellent. A good wine selection as well. Compliments to the chef and staff. Would recommend.
Wonderful to find a good restaurant open on a wintry Sunday night in Launceston. The service was friendly and professional and we received a genuinely warm reception. The menu features fresh local ingredients, and the wine list features many good Tasmanian wines and spirits. The laska, chicken and fish were all very good, as was the house-made bread. Although it was busy, the restaurant has a nice quiet ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Up until last night Cataract on Paterson was my favourite restaurant in Launceston - this place is just that one big step better for a truly classy and yummy meal. The first time I have felt that a chef who really loves their job prepared my meal. Duck for entreeScotch fillet for main AND some crazy spicey pumpkin cream cheese thingy with peanut butter ice cream - yummiest dessert EVVA. Amazing.
