We went to the Curry House on a recommendation of a friend and had a wonderful experience. The outside decor belies the quality of the food served. It's one of those secret treasures that are delightful to find. Really reasonably priced, and BYO which makes for a cheap night out. We had a goat curry with puffed rice. I'm looking forward to going back and sampling more that the menu has to offer. View all feedback.
Whenever I am in North Launceston for work, I always make sure to stop by this restaurant for lunch. They have a good selection of curries in the serving tray, fast service, and delicious fluffy naan bread. The mango chicken curry is sweet, fruity, and mild. I also recommend trying the chicken tikka masala, which is full of rich flavors, chicken, and a touch of heat.
The most authentic Nepali food I have ever had in Australia. The food that was served was a perfect combination of spices and so very well reflected our tradition. Me and my friends were full of praises about the food and how home like it actually tasted. I would definitely visit this place again and introduce the food to my whole family. I’m100% sure they are gonna be crazily in love with it….
I have been a loyal customer of Mowbray Curry House for about 7 years now. What started as a quick lunch stop after school for some delicious butter chicken turned into a deep appreciation for the unique and unbeatable food they serve. Even after moving away from Launceston, I still find myself craving their butter chicken in the middle of the night. I once made a special trip from Hobart back to Launceston just to stock up on 5 servings for the week. That's how much I love their food. If you want to experience the best butter chicken ever, don't hesitate to visit Mowbray Curry House. Trust me, it's worth it.
When you want to taste that good desi food, but don't want to fine dine at the fancier Indian joints in Launceston, Curry House in Mowbray is your go-to! This joint has never disappointed with the authentic Indian flavours and the prices are just perfect for those times when you're too lazy to cook, but don't want to experiment with new Indian/international restaurants. Curry House deserves to be that once place that I wish never changes or closes, because it makes the Indian in me feel much less homesick.
This place is a hidden gem. I have been to high end Indian restaurants in Lonny and this place is way above them all. The butter chicken is the best I've had anywhere and have found that the owners are a hard working, friendly team who bend over backward for you. I've never dined in but it is BYO if you decide to eat in. But the takeaway and smash it at home is what I love best. Seriously, it is the best Indian I've eaten anywhere.
