Honest, good value, French home cooking. In the week there are buffet options in the traditional style at set prices. The highlight for me is Saturday lunchtime when various meats are cooked over the fire and served with either French fries or a jacket potato and vegetables. What rosiedidit doesn't like about Auberge Du Lassay Les Chateaux:
Just had lunch there. Self service starters,main and puds. Starter was edible but definitely average. Mains offered a choice of chicken (dry), pork (very overcooked and dry) or beef stew. Accompanied by mash (which was sloppy and probably from a packet and extremely overcooked cauliflower. Puds chocolate mouse was ok , fruit salad tinned. Definitely won’t be returning to eat here. We reserved a table for yesterday's lunchtime, as it was our jubilee. we sat outside for a glass of wine and then went in to our meal. we had a steak (viande grill cooked over hot coals that came with a jacket kartoffel with a yogurt chive dressing, ratatouille, bread basket a beautiful bottle of saumur champigny with a delicious cream brulee and caffe allongee. the food was great and the host jo is beautiful. it is now our place to go.
Especially don't go, we want to keep her secret for us! more seriously a small place that reminds us, if we sometimes forget it, what is the real life of a village and the real pleasure of having a good time. warm welcome, super good boss, excellent food and very reasonable price. Plus, just a little place not to miss.
Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Menu à 16,50 euros comprenant entrées à volonté, plat, dessert et cidre. La terrasse extérieure est très agréable lorsqu'il fait beau. Le serveur est attentionné.
Un restaurant incroyable, des plats délicieux comme ceux que ferait une maman. Un service de qualité. Une clientèle amicale. À recommander sans hésitation. L'ambiance est chaleureuse.

The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because it doesn’t open evenings.Great wine at reasonable prices too!
