However, the name doesn't match the quality of the food, with the menu being heavily focused on deep-fried dishes. The portion sizes are generous, but some items like the steak were overcooked and tough. The food is described as a mix between pub fare and takeaway, with prices not necessarily reflecting the average quality. Recommended only for those who are very hungry and enjoy deep-fried meals. In contrast, Lemongrass consistently delivers delicious and fresh food with decent serving sizes. The beautiful water views add to the overall experience, making it a favourite Thai restaurant in Darwin. Another must-visit spot is the newly managed Royal Orchid at Cullen Bay, where diners can enjoy a romantic ambiance by the water. The staff is welcoming and the meals are superb with generous portions. It is recommended to share an entree to fully enjoy the main dishes, such as the barramundi and prawns with chips and salad.
Lemongrass is always a winner. eating was consistently good and always fresh. the view of the water is also beautiful. the servier sizes are decent and the staff is always friendly. my favorite restaurant in darwin.
Fantastic location, great ambiente directly at the water, good service, but the name does not live up to the quality of the food. the menu dominated strongly by deep fried meals, so it was hard to find something that was not deep fried. meal. size very generous, but steak hard and seriously overcooked. the food was a cross between pub tariff and takeaway very average when testing the price. recommended only for those who are very hungry and like the deep frit.
In cullen bay. this restaurant is now called the royal orchidee, taken over by new management. a high-time evening meal. a very romantic place, right next to the water sitting, were yachts by, also fishing jumping in the water, thinking they were catfishes....Staff very friendly and helpful. the meal was super, a very large portion. they complement each other to share a gut so that they can live up to the main meal. I had the barra and garnel with chips and salat.
Lemongrass is always a winner. The food has been consistently good, and always fresh. The views across the water are lovely too. Serving sizes are decent, and the staff are always friendly. My favourite Thai restaurant in Darwin so far.
Fantasic location, great ambience right on the water, good service, but the name doesnt live up to the quality of the food. The menu heavily dominated by deep fried meals, so much so that it was hard to find something that wasnt deep fried. Meal size very generous, but steak tough and seriously overcooked. The food was a cross between pub fare and takeaway - very average in considering the price. Recommended only to those who are very hungry and like the deep fryer.
