We really enjoyed this visit. Tiny village we picked out with a pin. Perhaps because of that it was a bit too quiet in the restaurant. Five or six good choices for each course, all freshly cooked and well presented. Friendly patron, but you do need a smattering of French at least. We will go again and will take friends. A drink before, a glass of wine each with, and three courses for the two of us. €42. Loved it. View all feedback.
What Jaap W doesn't like about De La Tour:
Very unfriendly owner and the place smells of cats. 1900 is too early for him to cook food, and guests who dont speak fluently french were too annoying for him. We left the place after one sip of our drinks. So dont go there! View all feedback.

Rustic and very friendly setting. Very nice staff, very good meal. What more?
I guess I have eaten in this restaurant at least once a year for about 15 years. Same owner/chef, and also serves behind the bar. This is a very small quiet village. Never busy and I prefer to eat in the bar area, get to greet a few locals, travellers etc. look at the pictures in the local news paper. Years ago meet a group on walking pilgrimage here. Tasty, well prepared, provincial cuisine that is becoming rare in France. Cooked and served by the owner. Admittedly he speaks no English (or claims to do so; , but will slowly repeat his menu if you ask. He has a fairly dry humour which my wife and her friend managed to prise open.... I swear he actually smiled . Many years ago, he had a huge St Bernard dog that used to come and lean against me as I ate my meal, I usually ended up eating at a 45 degree angle! Usually a choice of about 3 starters, mains and sweets. So a smattering of menu French helps, but old fashioned customer charm and civility helps. My dear old mother of over eighty always thoroughly enjoyed the experience of eating here, the food was great but we were never quite sure what we had ordered, so often a culinary adventure. I can honestly say I have enjoyed every meal eaten here, washed down a with a demi of the house rouge. Places like this need support and your chance to enjoy good provincial French food. I am looking forward to Easter and at least one meal in the Tour. Try it.
Ultimate comfort moment after a rainy ride in the morvan. a chef with little care and happy to share his family and copier cuisine in a vintage setting. don't pay a mine, but it was a very pleasant moment.
Nothing too fancy just great tasting food. We go to this restaurant twice a year, spring and autumn, when we go to the garden centre in the village. It is a no nonsense little restaurant where the food is nearly always very tasty. Never seen it busy so always amazed at the range offered in the menu.
