Flinders Bistro - Lara

Compared to other places to eat in the area this meal did not impress. The service was average and the feel in the dining area was really old. I would not recommend eating here when there is so much else on offer in Lara.

On arrival it all looked very plain and depressing. The walls are a dark grey as is the carpet and the chairs. Sat for about 5 minutes before being given menus. The waitress serving the meals was very pleasant but the lady in the bar needed to learn some manners.We ordered a garlic bread, chicken schnitzel with salad and chips and a chicken and mushroom risotto. Garlic bread was still cold even though the cheese was melted and nicely browned. The schnitzel was dry and over cooked and the risotto had no flavour and was over cooked it was like eating over cooked porridge with lumps of chicken in it. Overall I wouldn't recommend it there are far better places to eat. I would be embarrassed to serve this food.

This is the 3rd time we have eaten here, great meal each time, friendly and helpful service! I had risotto, cooked to perfection! And chicken Parma was also ordered by the family.. also YUM!! Cheesy garlic bread for starters never disappoints!! For a great meal, fairly priced and family atmosphere.. Try the Lara Sporting Club.. it won't disappoint!!Cheers!

If you're looking for flashy dining, this isn't your place but if you want a family meal out that's simple & pretty good value then you'll love it. Staff are friendly, food served quickly. Friday night is great with the raffle for various meat platters with the money going to the local sports clubs. In summer, kids can run around outside but there is no indoor playroom. Does have that comfy feel of a RSL club where it's friendly, relaxed & good value.

Absolutely horrid place, the place reminds me of a hospital, the regulars are loud and obnoxious, the service at the gaming bar is non existent and they are snobby and stuck up, I saw one older worker basically run down to the other bar tell off the bloke working down there for not doing anything, and then they stroll back to the gaming room and stand there chatting to the other workers for about 15-20 minutes, the food was bad quality and over priced, I will never return, disgusting place!!!
