At last, we were able to eat here earlier today. We ordered beef burger steak, pork steak, fried chicken and aglio olio, and we loved it so much. It’s quite expensive though but it’s worth it. Also, the food serving can be shared for two, and they serve the food really quick. I will definitely dine here again. View all feedback.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes and the efficiency of the service! Everything tasted great; served under 20 minutes! The Korean owner, Mr Um, personally manages the resto himself and is a nice host!
Occasionally, tiny, secluded places unexpectedly yield great dining experiences. Chef 's Bistro, a little known restaurant in Masiwa, Marigondon, a far flung suburb of Lapulapu City, is one such prized discovery. Evading the traffic soaked streets caused by incessant rains in the region recently, we decided to stay put in Mactan last night and began our first ever visit to this 2 year old hangout. Upon our arrival, owner Eric Um, Seoul native former Executive Sous Chef of Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort (now JPark Island Resort) warmly welcomed us at the door. Step inside and the simplicity of the interiors immediately hit you. Clean tidy, the modest decor radiates an intimate, homey atmosphere. While the ambiance was somewhat low key, the food aptly displayed a sense of maturity. This came as no surprise as Chef Eric, armed with his extensive hotel experience kitchen mastery, proudly showcased his passion ambition through his palatable creations. In fluent English halting Cebuano, he ably eased us into our table and offered his thoughts on which dishes to order. Two complimentary bowls of kimchi soon arrived as our appetizers. A few impressions on our orders: • Pork Steak (Php 295) and Chicken Steak (Php 285) a tad crispy on the outside yet all tender underneath, fried pork chicken meat never tasted this good. Interestingly, what sealed the deal for me was the gravy. Unique, smooth creamy, I couldn 't resist asking Chef Eric what made it so special. No secret, actually. It was simply mushroom sauce infused with a dose of red wine. All of us agreed that both steaks deserve Dish of the Evening honors. • Cheese Pizza (Php 410) and Hawaiian Pizza (Php 430) hot, cheesy, crunchy, good tasting thin crust doughs. A bit pricey for such moderately sized, sparsely topped pizzas. Nothing exceptional on their take on this popular Italian staple. • Carbonara (Php 360) buttery, creamy al dente pasta served with toasted garlic bread, this was another outstanding recipe. My son totally wiped his plate clean! The pricing was a bit steep but their large serving sizes fully made up for it. The free Wi Fi was decently fast, so were the cooking time and service. Everything we 've ordered was served in just under 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place. If you happen to be in the Marigondon area, do check out Chef 's Bistro and sample Chef Eric 's impressive menu.
The place was cozy. It's just a small bistro and it was neatly decorated. The servers were friendly and the owner talks to the costumer which i seldom experience. The food was not your typical american or italian taste, it's like american/italian infused with a korean twist since the chef/ owner is a korean. But nonetheless, the food was great. The price is in between cheap and expensive. But worth it.
We went to Chef's Bistro for a birthday dinner and the place was really pleasant. It had a cozy homey feel to it. We ordered a few items for variety. The Margharita Pizza was not that good. The dough felt undercook. The toppings were not that great too. I expected basil leaves and good mozzarella cheese. The Angus Beef dish was a bit expensive considering the size. The taste was good too, I felt cheated somehow. The sides were good too, corn and potato wedges. The BBQ Chili Pata was really good. Crunchy, sweet and spicy pork tenders. I am loving their sides, for this dish they served it with fries. Really good, the highlight of the night. Pomodoro Tomato which is really good too. It had a sour taste to it and not the usual sweet pasta dishes other places serve. Unfortunately, the Chef Bistro's Salad was gone before I had the chance to eat some. I would assume it was good. The place is just nearby the highway and easy to locate. I recommend Chef's Bistro for anyone who wanted to catch up with friends and even dine with your family after a long day at work or after mass. Head out to Chef's Bistro and try them.
