Woody's Grill
Description
Nestled in the heart of Madison County, this restaurant offers a casual yet inviting atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of golf or catching up with friends. Diners rave about the generous portion sizes and hearty comfort food, particularly the mozzarella sticks and pizza. While the service consistently receives high praise for its friendliness and efficiency, the atmosphere has mixed reviews, with some noting a significant presence of smoke indoors. Regardless, with meals averaging between $10 to $20, this eatery remains a solid choice for budget-conscious food lovers seeking a hearty, satisfying meal.

Woody’s is the epitome of a hole-in-the-wall bar, exactly as expected. There’s no pretension here—just a local watering hole with a relaxed, nostalgic vibe. The liquor selection is straightforward, offering the basics without any frills. What stands out, though, are the people. Both times I visited, the staff was welcoming and friendly, creating a laid-back atmosphere that made you feel like a regular right away. The bar has that classic dark, cozy feel with a bit of character, and if you’re a smoker, this is a place where you can light up without issue. They also accept both cash and credit, making it convenient. It’s not flashy, but it’s a solid spot for a casual drink with no fuss. Definitely a place that feels like it’s part of the neighborhood.
Stopped for something to eat after golf. Very dark inside, hard to read the menu. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
Very unassuming everyday sort of place which surprisingly had very polite and helpful staff. My wife and I had pizza, and our friends shared chicken breasts covered with cheese. The pizza was particularly good. A single order of chicken was more than two could eat. I can easily recommend the place for casual dining Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
