Had our rehearsal dinner/lunch here, this restaurant definitely didn't disappoint. Everything that was brought out was satisfying and satiating. This is a unique blend of Mexican and Japanese food that'll leave you wanting to revisit. Everything from the ceviche, birria, ramen and carne asada was raved about from our 25 plus guests. Would strongly recommend for small groups or big groups with advanced notice.
Sad to give this places 3 stars, it's cute inside, but overall I wouldn't recommend. The restaurant had incredibly loud music, to the point that I could barely hear my partner. The service was really slow, mind you we were the only people in the place and there was an abundance of workers. We enjoyed some of our food, we preferred the Mexican style dishes over the sushi. Honestly, the food was probably the highlight, but it's way overpriced for the value. You would think this place is in a downtown area given the pricing, but it's in a strip mall near a Jewel Osco. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and value is why I am rating so low.
The restaurant is tucked in the plaza near the Jewel Osco. We went for a Friday dinner and it was a spur of the moment thing. Let me just say, it was well worth it. I had the carne asada, which was tender and delicious. My fiancé had the birra taco dinner. She raved about it so i had to try it. It was amazing. The food is fresh and delicious. The owner was a delight to talk to. I plan on going there often.
We were so happy after trying Torro. Impeccable service and delicious food in a vibrant atmosphere.
