Place is definitely an oddity. It’s every bit odd as it is interesting. They don’t serve food, so keep that in mind. The bartender was excellent. Be prepared to brush shoulders with people from all walks of life here. If I could describe this place in one world, it’s peculiar. I heard songs I have never heard in my life. Pretty cool. What Sharon Van Ert doesn't like about Foster's South A:
We are new to Florida and this neighborhood bar is right around the block from us.My experience the air was very stale the atmosphere it was very slovenlyAnd the element was very unfriendly this was not my first experience they should have some kind of airflow people should smoke outside and please forgive me but some of the bartenders are real Biatches not friendly at all and if they would dismantle and clean this p... We were out of towners looking for a dive bar to feel a little more at home....maybe this was Florida 's version of a dive bar but we all felt so uncomfortable while being completely ignored by the bartender while she fraternized with the regulars, we didn 't let that deter us , she finally waited on us. No apology just bare minimum service. Also the bartender accidentally broke a glass...no biggie until a piece of that glass is laying in your cup when you finish your drink. The tab was average, we only had 1. If your an out of towner looking to feel at home this is not your place.
The bartender Nem was a very nice and friendly person but the so-called KJ is an as*hole. He didn't't even care if I wanted to sing or not! Plus very rude and doesn't even care if the bar lost two good paying customers. First time there and definitely the last time! I would not recommend going there to sing at all !!! Doesn't even deserve one star but it made me .....
Worst wannabe decaying DJ ever. Calls himself the host but was far from. He was drunk as well. We left because of him. First time there, and it was definitely the last.
This place isn't fancy; it's more of a hole-in-the-wall, the kind some might refer to as a dive bar. It's small and could easily be overlooked, but there’s a cozy atmosphere that made me feel safe and comfortable. It's a nice spot for a quick nightcap—not somewhere extraordinary, but certainly close to home, and I would love to return. What stood out to me was the friendly, professional, and unpretentious service from the staff. They offer karaoke, bingo, and other activities on various nights, which adds to the charm of the place. I’d like to give a shout-out to Nem, whose welcoming attitude and excellent customer service made my first visit enjoyable. The evening I went was relatively quiet—not overcrowded or rowdy—which contributed to a pleasant experience. Though I called it a night before midnight, Foster's South stays open until 2 a.m. I didn’t stay long, but I enjoyed a draft beer and a "duck fart" cocktail—made with Kahlua, Irish cream, and whiskey, layered in that order. It tasted better shaken or stirred, but since it was my first time trying it, I had found the recipe on YouTube and shared it with Nem, who kindly accommodated my request.
This place is truly unique. It's as strange as it is fascinating. Keep in mind that they don’t serve food. The bartender was outstanding. You’ll likely find yourself mingling with a diverse crowd here. If I had to sum it up in one word, I would say it’s eccentric. I heard some songs I’ve never encountered before, which was pretty cool.
