my daughter and her friend have watched goonies at the river. it was really nice. I just went in to use the toilet room, but it was clean, the furniture was wood and cleverly joined together. there was a huge old scale and I liked what it told me, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Waterfront Grill:
I liked the food. The meat was good. The menu is tiny for food. It's more meant for the social drinking type, so it wasn't a place for me. The view is nice, but the service seemed pretty slow when it wasn't that busy. Probably because the waitresses talk to a lot of people there, so for some that wouldn't be a negative. Best small bar in lansing. friendly staff . great drinks prices and a beautiful river view. Do not forget that they have good food too. Stop for a happy hour. You'll be glad you did it. it is a small city feeling in the big capital.
MSU fans all the way. 1st time there and we will be returning. Awesome food and service.
Nice place to eat on right by the water in the summer. The food here was actually great! I tried the Cuban sandwich and pizza both were very tasty. My wife had a big really salad she said was great and sister said the black bean burger was much more juicy compared to other places. The music was 1 notch too loud when we were there but no complaints about what they were playing.
Pros: 1) They have the best patio in town, located right next to the river downtown. 2) They are very dog friendly. On my last visit, there were at least 8 dogs on the patio at varying times, and almost all of them were adorable. 3) The pizza that I ordered the last time I was there was tasty. 4) Service is generally good. 5) Music is good, 6) It's a nice spot to get a drink after a day of kayaking. Cons: 1) The menu is completely unexciting and sparse. There's four appetizers, three of which were probably purchased from a grocery store. There's five basic sandwiches plus a hamburger and hot dog option, and a couple of boring salads. As mentioned above, there's also pizza. 2) The craft beer selection is mediocre. At times I've even seen winter brews offered in the middle of the summer. I'm guessing they got it at a clearance rate. It's not a bad place, but there's absolutely no reason to go there for food or drinks, which is typically the draw for a normal bar. The only time I imagine anyone eating there is if they're already there and they need to put something in their stomach. I'm also not a fan of my tax dollars being used to choose a single business to subsidize, creating an unfair advantage against competition. Yes, because of the pros listed above, I will go back, but because the heavy weight of the cons, it's not a place I will frequent.
