Flakey Jakes at Somerville is a nice little Fish and Chip shop.Always looks clean and the food is cooked well and in a timely manner. They are also open 7 days a week which helps when you need a take-away meal on a Monday or Tuesday when others are closed. View all feedback.

We had grilled/crumbed fish...that was nice, but the chips were sooooo dry and yellow. The potatoe cake and dim sim were ok and the prawn cutlets had too much crumb and overdone. Prob won't go back there again unless desperate. View all feedback.
The food is delicious, and issues are seldom encountered. It is great value for the price. This is my favorite fish and chip restaurant in the area. The only problem I have had is that the food was slightly overcooked. Other than that, I highly recommend it.
This is our go-to spot and we absolutely adore the grilled fish, generous portions, and delicious chips. While we've experienced a few mishaps with our orders in the past, it's understandable. The only thing missing is gravy on the menu!
The fish at this restaurant is large, coated in a crispy batter, and cooked perfectly. It's not oily at all! The potato cakes are also delicious.
We visited Flakey Jake's and purchased a family pack and we purchased Thai food next door. The Thai food was ready in about 20 minutes but the fish chips took neally 1 hour! When we finally got it the fish was very poor tasting. Will I go back? NEVER!
The food here is great, order a meal and go to the beach or park to eat for something different. Eat at home in front of the TV once a fortnight or week.
