friends had been before and invited us to come. to get to the restaurant you have to walk down this hall that looks like dr offices and the washroom is out there somewhere too. typical little chinese food diner. the food wasnt over priced and you got plenty. the place was dead except for us, the whole time we were there. we tried something new, it was tasty but it really wasnt really our thing. friendly owner/ waiter... While I was in the Tsawwassen area, I was feeling hungry and looking for a place to have lunch.
If you reside in Tsawwassen, chances are you have dined at this establishment and are aware that it is one of the scarce dining options that is not fast food.
I was in Tsawwassen for business and decided to have lunch near the mall. As I had never been to Tsawwassen before, I looked up restaurants nearby and came across this one.

The best Thai food our family has ever enjoyed and we are scattered all over Lower Mainland and the Island. Sadly, Ann the chef and owner has closed the doors on her business and called it a retirement as of July 1st 2016. A quiet, unexpected announcement but understandable after being in Langley for 26 years, starting in Brookswood and ending up downtown in the heart of Langley. Ann - who is in her 70s - has been open everyday and can be found in the kitchen making the most amazing food (including her famous curries!) without a single day off. A motor vehicle accident many years ago caused chronic health issues so retirement is a wise decision. We heard through the grapevine she was shutting down only 4 days before closing date so we scrambled to get everyone together for a final memorable feast. When we met up for our (bittersweet) celebratory meal the restaurant was packed full of loyal followers. Many hugs, handshakes, flowers, cards, photos, tears and smiles all around. What a dedicated following for this little Thai restaurant! In hindsight I should have put a little snippet in the local newspaper announcing the closing because I see some devoted customers missed celebrating one last delicious visit. The food was spectacular as always and we savoured every bite (trying to figure out how she makes every mouthful so uniquely flavourful and so darn delicious!). Her cooking will be sorely missed. Most of all we will miss Ann and Chad (et al) who have become extended family to us and so many others in the community. What an extraordinary outpouring of love and support at that final goodbye. My Thai will forever be Our Thai. Good luck and rest well in retirement Ann. You deserve it. And Chad we will see you and your lovely family in Victoria. We miss you already!!
