Today I was in the area and desperately needed to use the washroom, so I stop... read more I have regularly gone to Kooben Cafe approx. once per week for the past two years. Today I was in the area and desperately needed to use the washroom, so I stopped in to quickly go. The washroom was locked and the employee said that I wasn't able to use the washroom as I wasn't a customer. After explaining that I was a regular customer and that I just really needed to use the washroom she stated that I must buy something or wouldn't be allowed to have the key. I quickly bought a cookie that I didn't want. I hope the 3$ that I spent was worth it. Absolutely horrible customer service and an awful way to treat someone who regularly spends money in your cafe. I will not be coming back and would recommend others to do the same. Edited to add: the owner was also present and did not speak up or recognize that a reputable customer just really needed to use the washroom.

Love that they are a part of community events too like Fork Finger. You get the sense they really believe in the heart of small business community. One more star when the outside gets that clean up. ?*Add on: I was referring to the awning outside. Could be wrong but thought that was the businesses responsibility. I do hear you about landlords though. That can be tricky.

I was particularly impressed that they had alfalfa sprouts. Some would have liked there to be more cheese or ham. But, for 7.50, you can’t complain. Please excuse the photo of the nearly eaten sandwich. I almost finished it before I realized I wanted to do a review.

They have couches for a loungy vibe and a table for a 'high tea ' vibe. They have a variety of choices for coffee and tea and their cupcakes are amazing with adventurous flavours. We tried more cupcakes, as well as blueberry scones and a cheese scone. This time, we were able to enjoy our treats at the bakery since there was seating available. Once again, the quality of the baking and the cappuccino was outstanding! All the baked goods are made fresh each day, and the service is exceptional. They also offer sandwiches made with freshly baked sourdough bread. I highly recommend Frosting Cupcake and Bake Shop to anyone looking to indulge in fresh baked treats and great coffee.
