Not sure how good the foo... read more There are other places nearby for ice cream rather than here as there is not a large selection. Ice cream is not their main food item. Not sure how good the food is as ice cream was all we wanted. I see good reviews on their 50s style food. I looked them up online, but I think those photos were taken quite some time ago. The 50s decor is cute.

Upon sitting at the table we started looking around at our surroundings and OMG the place has so much built up dirt everywhere. I was afraid to touch the salt and pepper shakers they were so filthy. Our food arrived and surprisingly it wasn't too bad. I just cringe to think that the kitchen might be as dirty as the front of the cafe. I would not come back unless there was a visible effort to do a deep clean.

They also do...ice cream and milkshakes. And the next afternoon when I came in for just a coffee, I got a bottomless cup for and they let me sie there as long as I wanted, even though it was very busy.

The funky, decor looks... read more We found ourselves in Fort Langley for lunch and came across the Planet Java diner. There were several people inside so we gave it a try. The funky, decor looks pretty cool at first but then you look at the floor and around the...windows and it really needs a thorough cleaning. One of the specials was a chipotle veggie burger so my wife and I both opted for that, my wife had the side salad while I had fries. The burger itself was quite good with lots of extras on it. The fries were frozen but tasty enough and served piping hot. My wife said the salad was fresh and quite good. The bonus was the old fashioned milkshakes made in the metal cup. Excellent, if a bit pricey. Another downside occurred when I went to use the facilities. There were a LOT of cobwebs in the corners of the restroom, stretching all the way to the ceiling. The red naughahyde in the booths is old and cracking and the wall mounted jukeboxes are for decoration only. Overall, I'd say the food was good, the milkshakes excellent but it really needs a good cleaning. The server wasn't the friendliest guy but there might have been a language issue. It's a good place but with a good cleaning and a bit of an update, it could easily be a great place.

The service can be a bit slow since it’s run by just two or three people, but be patient; it’s absolutely worth it. This place is a constant craving for me. You can enjoy your meal either inside or outside on the front or side street, or even at the park next door. Where's John Catucci? Because you absolutely have to eat here!

Overall, it could be much better, but unfortunately, it disappointed in every aspect, and the initial "cool" factor quickly faded. The decor felt more "retro" than genuinely interesting, with only a few worn gimmicky art pieces and a statue that is supposed to be Elvis but doesn't resemble him. We will not be returning.

You have to add your own salt, they don’t even give mayo as a burger place, I understand the retro theme but come on people are paying for that burgers. The only thing good was fries. Don’t let yourself to be fooled by the fancy looking theme of the place, it’s not gonna worth your money.

The menu items a... read more We decided to stop for lunch on a whim, and I'm so glad we did! The service was quick and friendly, and the French fries were perfectly crispy. The menu items are attractively priced, which is a nice surprise for the trendy main street of Fort Langley. We're looking forward to returning to try more dishes!
